United Kingdom | Pink Ribbon Foundation

The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant-making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, have been affected by breast cancer, or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment.

There are a large number of such charities in the UK, each as deserving as the next. Many of the charities supported are the smaller ones, which operate on a shoestring.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation has very little infrastructure.
It relies on the hard work given by Trustees, interested parties and its Patrons. This is done in order to maximise the amount, which goes to the charities that benefit from the funds raised.

Every year the Foundation invites charities in the UK to apply for a grant in order to help them continue their vital work or to fund one-off projects.
Some of the many charities who have benefitted from a grant from the Foundation include:
The Haven
Cancerkin
Action Against Breast Cancer
Farleigh Hospice
The Primrose Centre
Cancer Research UK
Macmillan Cancer Support
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity
A full list of over 150 charities who have received grants can be found on the Who we help page.

For many of these smaller charities, a grant from the Pink Ribbon Foundation can make a huge difference. It can provide a highly-skilled programme of care, complementary therapies, counselling for patients and their families, up-date communication materials, awareness programmes, lymphedema care, therapy sessions, specialist equipment extra nurses to care for breast cancer patients, vital research into this terrible disease and much more.

With finances getting tighter and charities struggling to cope with demand, there is always a huge pressure on the Foundation’s resources. Quite simply, the Pink Ribbon Foundation want to support as many individuals and charities as possible. We can only continue to do this with your help.

Donate Five in February

Support those affected by breast cancer this February and donate £5.00 to the Pink Ribbon Foundation, or any amount with a FIVE in it and help us to reach our target of £5,000.

Five pounds may seem like a small amount, but little amounts soon add up and can make a huge difference to those with, or recovering from, breast cancer.

With fundraising events still on hold due to lockdown and social distancing restrictions, the Pink Ribbon Foundation are desperate to continue fundraising in order to support the many small charities who annually receive a grant from the Trust. Covid-19 does not stop people from getting breast cancer and can make receiving treatment more difficult and cause more stress and anxiety.

Around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK – will you help us support them during this most difficult time?

Examples of what £5 donations could pay for:

  • One Five (£5) – would pay for a length of multi-layered bandaging to help reduce severe Lymphoedema swelling OR a wig comfort pack containing soft wig caps and scalp care items
  • Three Fivers (£15) – would buy x 30 bottles of hand sanitiser for Patient Gift Packs OR could buy essential lab equipment for researchers
  • Five Fivers (£25) – supplies a one-to-one consultation with a Cancer Hair Care Specialist plus a bespoke hair loss pack sent in the post OR five hours of childminding so patients are able to attend hospital appointments
  • Ten Fivers (£50) – a mindfulness session for up to 20 patients OR a 1½ hour oncology body massage (when Covid restrictions allow)
  • (£500) – would pay for ten people to receive a counselling session to support them through their diagnosis OR pay for 55 interactions on a Cancer Support Line (telephone)
