About Europa Donna Slovenia
Europa Donna Slovenia has been active more than 25 years. We connect patients with breast and gynecologic cancers, healthy population and professional institutions in Slovenia. Our mission is to raise awareness about breast and gynecologic cancers and the importance of a healthy lifestyle, promotion of preventive screening programs and the importance of early detection of cancer in the general public. The main goal of Europa Donna Slovenia is to provide all women in Slovenia equal access to early diagnosis, adequate and effective treatment, comprehensive rehabilitation and psychosocial support for patients and their close ones. We are member of Europa Donna – The European Breast Cancer Coalition, which brings together 47 countries from the geographical region of Europe. In Slovenia, we are an independent, non-profit and humanitarian organization of civil society.
Europa Donna News - printed magazine
Since 2000 Europa Donna Slovenia has been continuously publishing the Europa Donna News, which are published five times a year. All the members of the association receive via regular mail, and the magazine is also included in the magazine ONA, one time per year. The other 4 times, it is published independently. The content of the Europa Donna News aims to raise awareness of a healthy lifestyle and early diagnosis, informing patients about new treatments and quality of life after diagnosis and sharing stories of patients. They also write about our activities and invite members to join their programs.

Program ROZA (Program PINK)
The diagnosis of breast and gynecologic cancer is associated with long-term treatment, which influences on emotions, thinking and interpersonal relationships of the patient and raises many questions that sometimes require professional psychosocial help. Therefore, in collaboration with different partners, we started the ROZA (pink) program which offers various forms of psychosocial support to patients and their loved ones. The ROZA program is co-funded by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia and participation in all activities is free of charge for our members. The activities it encompasses are mindfulness workshops, therapeutic groups for patients, their relatives and a 4-days camp for patient’s children.
Section groups for our members
The members of the Europa Donna Slovenia Association also have access to various sections that connect patients with specific needs and within which we try to provide them with appropriate support and socializing The Section of young patients is for women who were diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 40. The Section for the support of patients with gynaecological cancers connects patients facing gynaecological cancers. The section for metastatic breast cancer connects patients with advanced breast cancer and provides them with support in understanding treatment, alleviating side effects and seeking appropriate psychosocial support. The Section for recreation and sports promotes physical activity, as exercise and a healthy lifestyle are key factors in maintaining health and well-being.
Športni vikend 2022
Združenje Europa Donna Slovenija (Europa Donna Slovenia) last year organized Športni vikend 2022 (Sports weekend 2022). They wanted to encourage their members to be physically active and stay healthy.
The weekend was for socialization, sports activities and useful lectures about sports, healthy food and different other topics that are health related. It was organized at the Slovenian seaside, where weather is perfect for outdoor activities.
With this project they work on promotion of sports and healthy lifestyle, also on bonding and creating friendships among the participants. They gave to participants useful lectures about food, sports and different aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
