Pink Ribbon Foundation Fund

Introduction

The Pink Ribbon Foundation Fund is a new initiative under the umbrella of Think Pink Europe, powered by Pink Ribbon Foundation UK. The fund is designed to promote cross-border collaboration and innovation in breast cancer care. Each year, the fund will focus on a specific theme aligned with the unmet needs of breast cancer patients in Europe.

Historical Context

Before the creation of the Pink Ribbon Foundation Fund, the Pink Ribbon Foundation UK supported various separate initiatives by organisations within the Think Pink Europe family, with funds from international partnerships:

  • Kosovo: physiotherapy exercise for breast cancer patients suffering from lymphedema
  • Ukraine: "Expanding access to treatment" - medicines for women with Metastatic breast cancer
  • Montenegro: psychophysical support in the process of returning to the regular life course

Each of these projects played a crucial role in addressing disparities in healthcare access and support for breast cancer patients across Europe. However, the need for a more cohesive and streamlined approach led to the establishment of the Pink Ribbon Foundation Fund.

Yearly theme

New projects have to fit into the central theme, for 2025-2026: “Development of Psychosocial Support for Breast Cancer Patients.”  Projects must contribute to the development of new initiatives that improve the psychosocial well-being of breast cancer patients in their daily lives, their workplace, or family context. Initiatives should aim to become institutionalised within existing healthcare structures in a region, country, city, or hospital.

Collaboration is key

The PRF UK Fund aims to stimulate collaboration between different countries. This can range from jointly initiating new projects, sharing best practices, or replicating and sharing existing concepts that have proven successful in other countries.

Applications are currently open to Think Pink Europe member organisations and are expected to be implemented in 2026.
