Together We Race for the Cure

The countdown is on! In 2019, the famous Race for the Cure will be stronger than ever in Europe, as this year’s editions promise to be special. While the Roma Race celebrates its 20th edition with a special four-day event in May, other Think Pink Europe members will host their Race on 29 September 2019, the eve of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month October.

Ever since crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Rome, the Race for the Cure® has set foot in a growing number of European cities. On the mark of the 20th anniversary of the Roma Race, even more cities will join the European Race for the Cure® calendar.

20 years of Roma Race for the Cure®

Susan G. Komen Italia, pioneer in the organisation of the Race for the Cure in Europe, is preparing a special edition for this year in Rome, as the Italian capital will host its 20th edition of the Race. The first Roma Race took place in 2000 at the Circus Maximus and was the first one outside the U.S. Over the years, the number of participants kept growing impressively, making the Roma Race for the Cure with 72,000 participants the biggest Race in the world.

This year’s edition will be a four-day anniversary event, from 16 to 19 May. An impressive village for activities on health, sport and well-being, and a health village offering free specialised consultations, add even more value to the event. The highlight of this anniversary event will of course be the traditional Race for the Cure on the Sunday morning,

Think Pink Europe members have decided to make a big splash in 2019. To make the Race for the Cure an even more heart-warming event with maximum impact, the majority of the 2019 Races for the Cure® will take place on the same day: September 29, on the eve of the international breast cancer month October. No less than 18 cities have already confirmed the organisation of the Race, among which 6 first-time Races.
