Our Think Pink Camino Coach: Elvira
Eager to start planning your journey, but you find yourself struggling with practical questions? Do not worry, Elvira is there for you!
Elvira is an experienced pilgrim and Camino coach. She will be more than happy to share her Camino knowledge and experience with you. Do not hesitate to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As my father’s life came to an end, he wrote a personal Christmas card to each of his children for the last time. To me, he wrote: “For Elvira – always on the move”. I have a Dutch father and Belgian mother. My father, who served in the Dutch Armed Forces, completed his military service in New Guinea – I definitely got the travel bug from his side.
I have been fortunate enough to travel to 65 countries, from New Guinea to Alaska. I have also lived and worked in France, Australia, Greece, Ireland, UK, Spain and Cambodia, working as a tour guide, among other occupations. I have the knowledge and experience to guide you through one of the most influential journeys of my life so far: the Santiago Camino. When I started walking from ‘St Jean Pied De Port’ in the fall of 2015 to Santiago de Compostela for 790 km, my life changed. For me it began as just a walk, but it evolved into an inner journey.
Walking gives you a sense of freedom, it is addictive, I can see why some people become serial long distance walkers! I found a way of life, away from the daily rat race and rush, which gave me the sense of satisfaction that I had been looking for. The physical process of long-distance running, the mental rest, connecting with the world around you, all the beautiful and valuable encounters with nature and fellow hikers, an understanding of what really matters and gaining perspective, the incredible power of your body and mind and achieving balance between the two – these revelations gave me so much. Everyone should put this journey on their bucket list.
Challenge Yourself or Make it a Team Effort
Do you feel like this is a challenge you would to take on by yourself, or rather with your friends, colleagues or family?
The choice to make the Camino a personal challenge or a team effort is up to you.
As an individual participant, you will have your own participant’s page on our website and a private account on RouteYou. Teams will share a page and an account. Your participant's page allows you to raise funds and be sponsored, to make your endeavour even more meaningful.
Raising Funds Has Never Been Easier
As a participant, you pledge to raise funds to support the fight against breast cancer and for women's health. Your fundraising goal will be different whether you decide to sign up on your own or in a group:

The money you raised goes to an organisation of your choosing (80 %) and to Think Pink Europe for all organisational costs (20 %). You decide which organisation you want to support when you register online. We are happy to provide you with a receipt after your participation.
Each participant receives a unique T-shirt and an original Think Pink Europe Scallop, the symbol of the Camino.
